Buckle up, folks. If you thought the NFL was all about high-octane touchdowns and bone-crushing tackles, think again. This week, we got questionable coaching calls, franchise quarterbacks making really expensive mistakes, and yes—Taylor Swift stealing more game-day spotlight than Patrick Mahomes. It’s NFL Week 2, where nothing makes sense, everything’s chaotic, and some coaches are calling plays like they’re auditioning for a role in "The Fast and The Furious"—except the wheels fell off and they ran out of gas.

From Nick Sirianni deciding, "Hey, let’s throw the ball and give the Falcons a free win" to Caleb Williams having the football equivalent of a quarter-life crisis, we’re diving into all the highs and the lows. Oh, and Aaron Rodgers? He’s still making defensive backs look like lost puppies. If you missed the games, don’t worry—I’m here to break it all down. Let’s laugh, cry, and question every life choice that led us here as we go through the most entertaining (and confusing) moments of NFL Week 2!

Ranking the most entertaining games from week 2 of the 2024 NFL season

1. Kansas City Chiefs 26, Cincinnati Bengals 25

  • Why it was entertaining: The Chiefs pulled off a thrilling last-second victory, with Harrison Butker nailing a 51-yard field goal to win it. However, Patrick Mahomes had an uncharacteristic game, throwing two interceptions that could have easily cost Kansas City the game. The Bengals looked significantly better than in Week 1, and Joe Burrow was sharp, but questionable defensive schemes late in the game—especially the pass interference penalty on fourth down—gave the Chiefs life. Taylor Swift's presence added more non-football buzz to the game, continuing her highly-publicized appearances at Chiefs games.

2. Atlanta Falcons 22, Philadelphia Eagles 21

  • Why it was entertaining: Kirk Cousins led an incredible game-winning drive, but it’s Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni who will be scrutinized for his late-game decisions. Up by one point with less than two minutes left, Sirianni shockingly called a pass play on third-and-3, which Saquon Barkley dropped. Instead of running the clock and potentially sealing the game, the incomplete pass allowed Cousins and the Falcons a chance to take the lead. Cousins capitalized with 71 quick passing yards, driving Atlanta into field goal range to win it. This coaching misstep undoubtedly cost the Eagles the game.

3. Buffalo Bills 31, Miami Dolphins 10

  • Why it was entertaining: While the Bills dominated, the biggest storyline was Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion, which has raised serious concerns about his health moving forward. James Cook was the standout for Buffalo, scoring three touchdowns in the first half and overshadowing the usual focus on quarterbacks. Miami’s offense looked disjointed after Tua's exit, and their road to winning the AFC East just got a lot tougher without their starting QB.

4. New York Jets 24, Tennessee Titans 17

  • Why it was entertaining: Aaron Rodgers once again proved that age hasn’t caught up with him yet, throwing two touchdown passes with ease. But the Titans made life harder for themselves with poor pass protection and a costly fumble late in the game. Rodgers was given too much time to operate, and his offensive line allowed only one pressure. Tennessee’s defense couldn’t get critical stops when it mattered most, and their offense struggled to keep pace.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20, Detroit Lions 16

  • Why it was entertaining: The Buccaneers, behind Baker Mayfield, are starting to look like serious contenders in the NFC South. Dan Campbell’s Lions, on the other hand, made too many mistakes in key moments, failing to convert in the red zone multiple times. Mayfield’s solid play, combined with a strong defensive showing, helped Tampa Bay secure the win, but it’s clear the Lions need to clean up their execution if they want to be taken seriously as Super Bowl contenders.

6. Las Vegas Raiders 26, Baltimore Ravens 23

  • Why it was entertaining: The Ravens, last year’s AFC #1 seed, now find themselves 0-2, which is troubling considering their playoff hopes are already in jeopardy. Gardner Minshew and the Raiders took full advantage of Baltimore’s defensive lapses, with Davante Adams torching the Ravens’ secondary. Baltimore's offense showed flashes of brilliance, but poor clock management and missed opportunities doomed them late. Head coach John Harbaugh will need to make serious adjustments to avoid this season spiraling out of control.

7. Arizona Cardinals 41, Los Angeles Rams 10

  • Why it was entertaining: Kyler Murray is back, and he is making his return from injury look nothing short of spectacular, leading Arizona to a dominant win. Rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was virtually unstoppable, catching two touchdowns and putting the game out of reach by halftime. On the flip side, Matthew Stafford looked out of sorts, constantly under pressure behind a battered offensive line. The Rams’ lack of depth and mounting injuries, including Cooper Kupp’s ankle injury, left them completely overmatched.

8. Minnesota Vikings 23, San Francisco 49ers 17

  • Why it was entertaining: Sam Darnold showed why the Vikings brought him in, making a strong case to solidify his role as the starter. He threw for 268 yards and connected with Justin Jefferson on a stunning 97-yard touchdown pass. However, Darnold’s two red-zone turnovers nearly cost Minnesota the game, allowing the 49ers to stay in it. Despite losing Jefferson to injury, the Vikings held on, but Darnold will need to protect the ball better going forward.

9. New Orleans Saints 44, Dallas Cowboys 19

  • Why it was entertaining: The New Orleans Saints dominated the Dallas Cowboys with a 44-19 victory. Alvin Kamara was unstoppable, scoring four total touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving), while Derek Carr threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns. The Saints' offense was relentless, scoring on their first six possessions. Dallas struggled, especially in the red zone, managing just one touchdown and settling for field goals. New Orleans now looks like a serious NFC contender after two impressive wins, and the Cowboys...yeah,, this is the year...

10. Cleveland Browns 18, Jacksonville Jaguars 13

  • Why it was entertaining: While Cleveland’s defense was excellent, forcing two Trevor Lawrence turnovers, this game was far from clean. The Browns’ offense struggled in the red zone and failed to capitalize on multiple chances. Jerry Jeudy’s big day (his first major performance as a Brown) provided a spark, but the Browns will need more consistency on offense to contend in the AFC.

11. Los Angeles Chargers 26, Carolina Panthers 3

  • Why it was entertaining: Bryce Young’s struggles continued as he managed only 84 passing yards with an interception. Young's inability to stretch the field or make big plays continues to frustrate Panthers fans. While Justin Herbert wasn’t perfect—committing two turnover-worthy plays—his efficiency (two touchdowns) was more than enough to put away the Panthers, whose offense looks like one of the league’s worst.

12. Seattle Seahawks 23, New England Patriots 20 (OT)

  • Why it was entertaining: The Seahawks narrowly escaped with an overtime victory, but Geno Smith’s performance was mixed. While he connected for big plays with D.K. Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle failed to put the Patriots away earlier, letting them hang around. New England’s run game dominated (177 yards combined between Stevenson and Gibson), but Jacoby Brissett’s limitations in the passing game cost the Patriots late.

13. Washington Commanders 21, New York Giants 18

  • Why it was entertaining: Rookie QB Jayden Daniels continued to show his versatility, making plays with both his arm and legs, but the Commanders’ offensive game plan was too conservative, relying heavily on short passes and limiting Daniels’ potential. Daniel Jones had a clean but uninspiring game for the Giants, failing to make any big-time throws when it mattered most, leaving fans wondering if he can truly elevate this offense.

14. Green Bay Packers 16, Indianapolis Colts 10

  • Why it was entertaining: This game was all about Josh Jacobs carrying the Packers, as the passing game with backup QB Malik Willis was uninspiring. The Colts' defense, depleted by injuries, couldn’t stop Jacobs, while rookie QB Anthony Richardson was completely neutralized by the Packers’ secondary. Green Bay's defense deserves credit, but the offense will need to step up once Jordan Love returns.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers 13, Denver Broncos 6

  • Why it was entertaining: Rookie QB Bo Nix struggled mightily, throwing three interceptions, including one in the red zone that killed any hope of a comeback. Pittsburgh’s defense dominated, with Justin Fields doing just enough to manage the game and keep the Steelers undefeated. Denver’s offense looks completely out of sync, and Nix will need to improve fast to avoid further losses. Mike Tomlin knows how to win ugly.

16. Houston Texans 19, Chicago Bears 13

  • Why it was entertaining: Caleb Williams looked like a shell of his college self, throwing two interceptions and taking seven sacks. The Texans’ defensive front dominated Chicago’s offensive line, making life miserable for Williams. C.J. Stroud was solid for Houston, but the Texans' offensive play-calling was overly conservative in the second half, preventing a larger lead.

In conclusion, NFL Week 2 gave us everything: last-minute heroics, coaching blunders, and a healthy dose of “what just happened?” From Nick Sirianni’s baffling decision to let the Eagles throw away a win to Baker Mayfield’s resurrection in Tampa Bay, we saw it all. And don’t even get me started on Taylor Swift somehow getting more screen time than Mahomes. Whether you’re cheering or facepalming, Week 2 delivered the drama and chaos we all love (or hate) in the NFL!
